Hi! I’m Maya.

I graduated from Western Washington University at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, so needless to say, I’ve learned the value of resilience and endurance. Yet in the wake of stay at home orders, it was made abundantly clear that we need connection.

Despite technology that makes the world seem smaller than ever before, we’re also becoming more isolated. It’s why I decided to learn more about how to engage with others. I’m a Communications, Public Relations, and Journalism professional aspiring to foster a sense of community everywhere I go, because no matter what, we need one another.

I’ve had the pleasure of pursuing this goal in a variety of industries: education, information technology, healthcare, shipping, even city politics and the nonprofit sector. From Outreach Coordinator to Multimedia Specialist, I find happiness when my work makes a positive impact on the people around me.

In addition to being an avid gamer, I’m also an artist, writer, and aquarist. When I’m not on the clock, you can probably find me cozied up in my gaming chair, stuffing popcorn in my mouth while I’m building a fortress on the latest survival game and scrolling through Discord.
